Sthala puranam and temple information

This temple is located very close to the Kailasanathar temple in Murappanadu, one of the Nava Kailasam temples.
There is not much information by way of sthala puranam for this temple. However, it is regarded that this temple was built by a king named Kasivendan.
The temple has a single prakaram, and is surrounded by several trees and plants in its premises, presenting a verdant and quiet atmosphere, fit for meditation. Inside the Anjaneyar shrine is another Perumal murti recovered from a nearby temple which was in dilapidated state.
