Sthala puranam and temple information

This Kerala style temple is over 800 years old built by one devotee. Lord Krishna, when being brought up by Yashoda, was naughty and troublesome. Once he was caught with butter in his hand and also a mouthful of butter. When being reprimanded he showed his Viswaroopam as Balakrishna with butter.

Twelve feet high Balakrishna is seen with mother Yashoda near his feet with a hand holding a spoon and the other with butter. Both mother and son are seen together like this as a rare sight. The lord is seen with four hands – two carrying the conch and chakra, the third with butter and the fourth with Gadhayudham (mace). Balakrishna`s birthday is celebrated with lot pomp here.

Devotees come and pray here for childbirth and success in business.
