Appeal – Sivan and Perumal temples at Naranamangalam, near Kudavasal, Tiruvarur dt

The village of Naranamangalam near Tiruvidaichery, in the Kudavasal Taluka of Tiruvarur district, has two temples – the Narayaneeswari sametha Narayaneswarar Sivan temple, and the Sridevi, Bhudevi sametha Varadaraja Perumal temple.

This serene village lies between the Puththaru in the north and Valapparu in the south.

According to the sthala puranam here, Lakshmi came down to Bhulokam and worshipped Lord Siva, in order to be wed to Vishnu. Pleased with Her prayers, Vishnu came down as Narayana, and married Lakshmi here, with the blessings of Lord Siva and Parvati.

As a punya kshetram, it is believed that worshipping the deities in these two temples will ensure there are no obstacles from the planetary deities. Accordingly, there is no navagraham shrine in the Siva temple here.

The kumbhabhishekam for both temples is planned for 15 September 2024, and work is actively progressing. The work is also in need of funds. Devotees and readers who are interested may please contact the individuals listed in the notices below.
